Exceptional sourcing : our producers are selected for the quality and diversity of their cereals
We identify our producer partners by the quality of the raw materials and also the human, social and environmental aspects of their business. We source from local producers, ensuring that we are supplied with organic cereals and ancient wheat all year round. Quality of their products is essential, as is their proximity to the mill.
The origin of our wheat must offer the technical qualities needed by professional bakers to meet consumer expectations in terms of taste and nutrition. The diversity of our cereal growers means we can produce the organic flours our bakers and food manufacturers need in large quantities all year round to satisfy consumers.
Our historical and institutional partners
Since 1979, Minoterie Suire has worked closely with regional farming cooperatives and organisations in a spirit of collaboration, sustainability and fairness.
Our long-standing partnership with Vendée cooperatives
Minoterie Suire has played a major role in the development of the region’s organic sector with, among others, its long-standing partner the Coopérative Agricole Vendéenne (CAVAC). Together, we wanted to unite all the links in the production chain, from grain to bread. This was well before the definition of a single set of specifications for Organic Farming: because organic is our nature.
The mill is supplied with soft wheat for organic bread-making by cereal growers from the Vendée co-operative CAVAC, the trader Biograins and the AGRIBIO co-operative. More than four hundred hectares have been mobilised. The wheat delivered is subject to a floor price and a ceiling price to guarantee a lasting relationship with the farmers and ensure them a stable and fair price.
Social partners to raise the profile of traditional French milling
We are members of the organic food industry companies’ union, which works hard every day to promote a coherent, demanding and sustainable organic sector. SYNABIO represents companies like Minoterie Suire with public and private organisations, to defend the values and standards of organic farming. This partnership means our bakers benefit from tailor-made support from teams of experts, whether in terms of regulations, quality policy, training or advice on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
A solid network of organisations giving strength to the collective
ANMF
Minoterie Suire is an active member of the Association Nationale de la Meunerie Française (ANMF). It brings together and represents millers in all their diversity across the country, who produce 94% of French flour.
The ANMF helps us maintain regular dialogue within the milling ecosystem and share information with all partners in the milling industry. The ANMF enjoys privileged relations with the French and European public authorities and is a key player with professional organisations: upstream (cereal farmers) and downstream (bakeries and food industries).
Member of INTERBIO Pays de la Loire
Loire-Atlantique is the 2nd largest département in France in terms of certified organic farmland. Professionals in the sector at every link in the production chain – farmers, craftsmen, millers, organic stores, etc. – are mobilised within INTERBIO to ensure the development and promotion of organic farming. It is only natural that Minoterie Suire, in its capacity as a processing company, should be involved in co-constructing the organic products of tomorrow.
